about us
Red Seed Studio is the design collaboration of Ellie Beck and Sam Messina.
Both growing up with artistic and expressive familes, our creative talents were nurtured and encouraged from an early age. Drawing from many aspects of our daily life, we are influenced by family, nature, art and the environment we live in. We design and create things that capture our imagination.
We met eleven years ago, and have always worked towards launching our own design and handcrafted range of artwork, clothing, homewares and accessories. We aim to live lightly on our planet, and this naturally flows across to our products and manufacturing processes.
A Brisbane, Australia based company our aim is to self-produce a highly crafted and continuously evolving range.

All products in the Red Seed Studio range are handcrafted in Brisbane, Australia. Our fabrics are hand screenprinted in small limited edition runs, and each product is sewn with love.
We like the quality of something made by hand, as well as the thought and intention behind handcrafted items. Each piece is hand screen printed, making any irregularities in the printing part of the beauty of being handcrafted; like an artists mark.
Too many items in our daily lives are mass produced, with little or no integrity in their design process or end result. At Red Seed Studio we want to add texture, colour and warmth to your life, through meaningful design.
It is important to us to remember the traditional crafts of our ancestors, and pass them onto our children. As well as promoting fair trade and respect across all nations and craftspeople.

At Red Seed Studio, we use natural, organic and reclaimed fabrics in our products. Primarily we use hemp, which is almost like a superplant that needs minimal water and no pesticides in it's growing or milling process. Woven with SKAL certified organic cotton, it makes a soft, yet durable fabric that has a linen-like feel.
Hemp has come a long way in the past ten years; it is now a versatile fabric which comes in many weights and colourways.
We hand screen print all our designs, using water soluble, solvent-free printing inks. We monitor and minimise water wastage in our printing process.
Our stationery, business cards, greeting cards and promotional material is made using 100% recycled paper.
